2019 FoBAB – Odds to Win

Futures – Best in ShoW

Last year we put together a last minute list of odds to win Best in Show at FoBAB 2018. We love to mix our beer and our gambling over here (see March Madness for details,) so we’re back again with this years list of odds to win.

Last year Bottle Logic was an 11/2 favorite and would turn out to be the winning bet, with Fundamental Observation. So much for the shine coming off batch 4 of FO. As usual the brewery list of participants has been posted over on Fobab.com. The list of individual beers will not be publicly known until Session #1 on November 8th.

Opening line is the brewery’s line, beers sight unseen. I’m obviously not booking your action, so you’ll have to find another degenerate to bet your money and beers with. Have at it.

Things to consider

  • Judging is blind
  • Breweries from the Midwest have a higher win rate, but also a higher participation rate in general
  • Wilds historically win less than dark beers
  • Last 3 winners have been Bottle Logic, More Brewing and Listermann Brewing
  • Here’s a link to all past winners
  • Certain breweries have multiple locations that have submitted locations that will be totaled under one brewery selection.
